For Grassroots and weekend competitors, it can be difficult to find events without professional riders to compete against. Whilst a bit of healthy competition is usually a positive, it can be demoralising for amateur riders!
Equine Sports UK (ESUK) saw a need for a ‘level playing field’ for riders who are truly competing at Grassroots level. The group exists to provide a competitive environment for riders competing at a similar level to one another across a variety of disciplines. This year’s show takes places over four days, featuring over 100 classes open to a variety of competitors. This year’s Championships, taking place from 28th – 31st July 2022 at Arena UK, have classes for show jumping, dressage, show jumping, showing, combined training and fun classes. Many of these classes are ‘Open’, meaning competitors do not have to qualify to take part. The Championships, held later in the show, are qualification only. It’s the perfect set up for those wishing to showcase their horses at an encouraging yet competitive environment.
